A Look Into the Colorado Springs Electric Vehicle Club

Connecting with an EV Club is a great way for EV owners or EV enthusiasts to meet and connect with like-minded people. There are a variety of EV clubs around Colorado, and Drive Electric Colorado is pleased to highlight the Colorado Springs Electric Vehicle Club.

Mac McCauley, founder, and Wilson Hitchings, web admin, of the Colorado Springs EV Club (CSEVC) shared some information about their EV club based in the Pikes Peak region. Mac founded the club in 2015 after realizing the lack of community around electric vehicles in his area. He began by emailing people he knew that owned EVs, and after connecting with Wilson through a shared EV charging app,, the CSEVC blog was born. The blog was created to promote the ownership and use of electric vehicles in and around Colorado Springs. This non-political club is inclusive of all types of electric vehicles, makes, and models, including hybrids, plug-ins, and even electric bikes or motorcycles.

Recently, CSEVC hosted an EV education event and rally at the University Village Shopping Center in Colorado Springs and an EV meetup in Golden during National Drive Electric Week. They also attend out-of-state events, such as the recent Flatland Car Show in Russel, Kansas, a Thunder on the Plains Car, Truck and Cycle show in Hays, Kansas, and an EV meetup with the Grand Junction EV Club. CSEVC hopes to host more road trips in the future as more charging stations are added. In the past, they have gone on drives to the Tesla Factory in Fremont, California, Bishop’s castle in Southern Colorado, and up Pikes Peak with their club members.

Today, CSEVC currently holds Friday lunches every week at noon, and are hosting Zoom meetings every Monday at noon. CSEVC prides itself on the diversity of its electric vehicles and always welcomes new members.
