This initiative is led by Drive Clean Colorado in collaboration with the Colorado Energy Office and the ReCharge Colorado coaches from organizations statewide including CLEER, 4CORE, and Northern Colorado Clean Cities. At Drive Electric Colorado, which was launched in October 2020, we believe that equipping Coloradoans with the right information will encourage the adoption of electric vehicles (EVs). Our goal is to help the state of Colorado reach 940,000 EVs on the road by 2030. We offer an easily-reached source of easy-to-understand and unbiased facts, deals, and coaching regarding anything EV-related – from what models of electric vehicles are available, how charging works, where to connect with other EV drivers, and how to save the most money. Our friendly coaching/concierge service is the cornerstone of DE-CO and sets us apart from other EV awareness campaigns. Real human coaches are available to talk with people about EVs and answer questions in one-to-one conversations. While the Drive Electric Colorado website is entirely consumer-focused, the initiative as a whole exists as more than just a website and will incorporate dealerships, fleets, policymakers, EV clubs, utilities, and regulators.
Drive Electric Colorado is part of Drive Electric USA, a Department of Energy-funded project comprised of Clean Cities Coalitions, electric vehicle groups, and other committed partners from fourteen states. This project engages individuals, utilities, legislators, dealerships and others towards removing adoption barriers and accelerating plug-in electric vehicle use throughout the United States.
