COLORADO ORGANIZATIONS CELEBRATE NATIONAL DRIVE ELECTRIC WEEK

Several events will take place around the state to highlight electric vehicles

[DENVER, CO] – Many organizations will be hosting events around Colorado to highlight the climate, clean-air benefits and cost-savings of electric vehicles as part of the 11th annual National Drive Electric Week, September 25–October 3, coordinated by Plug In America.

The Drive Electric Colorado team will be on hand at these events to answer questions about what it’s like to drive an EV, chargers (both at home and on the road), state and federal tax incentives, Xcel Energy rebates, and more.

Colorado’s events are part of more than 180 across the nation (and around the world) where electric vehicle owners and their communities will hold online webinars, electric car parades, “tailpipe-free” tailgate parties, recognition of leaders promoting EVs, launches of new public EV charging stations and other public events.

Each year, it’s becoming increasingly clear that EVs are here to stay and represent the future of clean, pollution-free driving. A recent survey by Consumer Reports and the Union of Concerned Scientists shows that over 60 percent of prospective car buyers in the U.S. are interested in electric vehicles; public interest, across geography and income level, is growing.

“These events are excellent opportunities for individuals to experience an EV for the first time,” said Bonnie Trowbridge, Executive Director of Drive Clean Colorado, the organization behind Drive Electric Colorado. “Many people we talk to are interested in EVs but have no experience with them and have many questions, from technical aspects to charging logistics. These events are a way to have those questions answered by real-world EV owners and EV experts.”
