Earth Month 2024 Event Recap

May 2, 2024

We believe every month is Earth Month, and April is no different!

Throughout April, many cities and organizations hosted a variety of Earth Day celebrations across the state of Colorado. Drive Electric Colorado attended 13 events throughout the month, serving as a go-to EV resource for Coloradans, answering questions about what it’s like to drive electric, charging infrastructure, state and federal tax incentives, rebates, and more. By providing event opportunities in the form of EV workshops, showcases, and ride and drives, consumers, workplaces, and communities were able to experience electric vehicles first band and gain resources to help them make informed decision about driving electric. Thank you to our Volunteer EV Coaches and partners for making these happen!

In total, we reached 3,060 attendees at events, and we engaged with 2,051 people.

We also conducted 1,664 ride and drives — the majority of whom took an EV test drive for the very first time!

Throughout the month, we surveyed attendees to learn more about their perceptions of EVs, willingness to switch to an EV, and likelihood of driving electric.

Here's what we found…

The majority of survey respondents felt positively about EVs, even before approaching our Drive Electric Colorado educational booth or EV ride & drive experience. However, perceptions about EVs increased even more positively after taking a test drive.

On average from all of our April events, the most frequently asked questions were on the topics of: Tax Incentives and EV Charging. Our team was glad to further dive into those topics with interested consumers! Did you know that between state and federal tex credits, you could receive up to $12,500 in incentives for buying a new EV? Or that 80% of EV drivers charge at home, but also use the app PlugShare to find nearby chargers when they're on the go? Learn more about EV Incentives and EV charging, and as always contact a coach for more information.

Did you attend an Earth Month event with us this year? We'd love to know what you thought! Contact us to share your experience or any feedback here.
