Stakeholder Spotlight — City of Northglenn

July 10, 2023

Drive Electric Colorado is excited to share one of our Community Partners, the City of Northglenn! With just over 39,000 residents and close proximity to the Denver Metro area, Northglenn has a distinct quality in its community’s planning, development, and livability. Northglenn also incorporates sustainability efforts, as the community is connected by the Greenway Trail System, which provides over 35 miles of off-street walking and biking paths that connect to larger trail systems that lead throughout the Denver metro area. This summer, Drive Electric Colorado will be partnering with the City of Northglenn to provide EV showcases and ride and drives at their upcoming Neighborhood Nights 2023 series. Check out our EVents page to find the next Neighborhood Nights event this summer!

The City of Northglenn has also been working towards electrification efforts through its EV Action Plan adopted in April 2022. This EV Action Plan will support increased use of EVs throughout the City with a focus on the municipal fleet, public adoption, public charging, and policy. Drive Electric Colorado works with the City of Northglenn through ride-and-drive outreach events, like the Northglenn EV Showcase we had back in August! This event, sponsored by the City, was a great way to learn about EVs and what initiatives the City has to support them.

Becky Smith, Planning Manager at the City of Northglenn, described how “Northglenn’s vision is to reduce greenhouse gas emissions and improve air quality through electric vehicle adoption and infrastructure that is inclusive, sustainable, cost-effective, and innovative. Partnering with Drive Clean Colorado has provided an opportunity to connect our residents with EV information and opportunities to meet with EV owners.”
